Golden’s Candlelight Walk

Pre-show, 5 pm in Parfet Park

Walk begins at 6:30 pm on Washington Ave. at 15th St.

Experience the beauty of the holiday season with a candlelit walk down Washington Avenue in historic Golden, Colorado. Sing carols with neighbors and friends and marvel as the street is illuminated by thousands of glowing candles and the warmth of the festive, small-town holiday atmosphere. Many of the shops along Washington Avenue are open and there are hot cider, cocoa, and outdoor cafes to enjoy along the way. At the conclusion of the walk, the “switch” for Golden’s 45,000 holiday lights along Clear Creek and throughout downtown will be flipped, marking the official start to Golden’s holiday season. Afterward, stroll along Clear Creek to admire the lights and visit the Golden History Museum & Park and Golden Public Library, open until 8:30 pm on December 6th.

Commemorative Candles 

Commemorative Candles for the upcoming Candlelight Walk are now available. Stop into Miners Saloon or Baby Doe's Clothing, Artisan Jewelry & Fine Craft to get yours with a suggested donation of $3 per candle. Candle sales end once supplies run out or once the business is closed for the day on December 6th.

Wax Candles 

Wax candles (and possibly some glow sticks) will be available the night of the Candlelight Walk between 5:00 - 6:30 pm courtesy of partner non-profits. Sales locations include Parfet Park, Golden Welcome Center, 12th & Washington, 13th & Washington, and 14th & Washington. Most will be sold cash only between $1 - $3.
