Even when covered in snow, Goldenites always find ways to spend time in our stunning outdoor surroundings. For many residents and visitors, snowshoeing  offers a popular alternative for an outdoor activity that makes the most of our natural landscape and countless parks.

Cutting through fresh powder with a minimum of hassle and gear is a winter sport that kids and adults can easily learn. There is no substitute for the quiet terrain you will find yourself enjoying and there's always a chance for wildlife watching.

Trails in and near Golden:

CLEAR CREEK TRAIL – Start at Lions Park and work your way west and go as far as you want. As it is mostly a concrete trail, there needs to be a good snowpack or fresh snow. While the trail is mostly level, there is a slight grade at the base of Lookout Mountain but overall this trail is fairly easy. When done, head into downtown Golden and enjoy one of their numerous breweries or coffee houses.

GOLDEN GATE CANYON STATE PARK – Multiple trail options of varying lengths and difficulties. Check out the Golden Gate State Park website for updated conditions and weather.
